About me
Who are you?
I'm Dragos Ionita, and starting from September 2009, I am studying „Software
Technology“ at the Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Since the year
2004 I've been developing Web applications professionally. In the early years
I liked working with Adobe (then Macromedia) Flash, ActionScript, creating
animations and all sorts of interactive interfaces and winning numerous prizes
in team competitions. Later, there has been a great deal of satisfaction derived
from Web related work, and appreciation by others motivates me to improve. In
2008 – a few months after graduation at the Bucharest University – I left
Romania looking for better opportunities in Italy, where I worked on a PHP
back-end system for a VoIP services company.
What is important to you?
Living healthily, being in touch with the evolution of the Web, Computer
Science, Science in general, my friends and my family.
What is The Fusion Blog?
It's a project I started a few years ago, but have given only sporadic
attention to. I try to write things that reflect my nature and my way of
thinking. Lately I have become more involved with making it a successful
website. The addition of the feedback buttons turned out to be a great idea –
they provide valuable information about what visitors and readers expect to
find here.
Why is it called „The Fusion“?
If in doubt, when registering to a website, the default nickname I pick is
„fusion5“, which led me to choosing the Fusion Blog as a hopefully memorable
brand name, which is also connected to other online identities.
What do you like?
Other people, writing, reading Science and Science-Fiction books – the
favorites are Rama, the Foundation series,
Ender's Game and many more, playing the guitar (to the annoyance of
others). I am a skeptic, in the sense that with rigorous proof I can be
convinced of just about anything. My favorite music includes The Doors,
Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Queen, U2, Electronic DJ music and Classical
music: Bach, Glenn Gould, Mozart.
